A fast, reliable, and simple way to collect, preserve, and isolate proteins and nucleic acids in urine at ambient temperatures
Norgen’s Urine Collection and Preservation tubes are designed for the rapid preservation of DNA, RNA, microRNA and proteins from fresh urine samples. The Urine Preservative prevents the growth of Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria and fungi, and also inactivates viruses allowing the resulting non-infectious samples to be handled and shipped safely.
In addition, the Urine Preservative eliminates the need to immediately process or freeze samples and allows the samples to be shipped at ambient temperatures. The components of the Urine Preservative allow samples to be stored for over 2 years at room temperature with no detected degradation of urine DNA, RNA or proteins.
Norgen’s Urine Preservative is available in 2 convenient formats: a single dose ampule or a urine collection and preservation tube.

With the single dose ampule, Norgen’s Urine Preservative is supplied in a liquid format. The user must collect 5 – 50 mL of urine, add the contents of the Urine Preservative Single Dose, and then mix the urine and preservative to preserve the urine nucleic acids and proteins at room temperature.
With Norgen’s Urine Collection and Preservation Tubes, the Urine Preservative is supplied in a dry format. Users must simply collect urine and then mix in the preservative until it dissolves. The Urine Collection and Preservation Tube is available in 3 convenient sizes: 5 cc, 15 cc, and 50 cc tube.
