For the rapid and simple purification of bacterial and host DNA from stool samples
The Stool DNA Isolation Kit from Norgen Biotek provides a fast and easy way to isolate total DNA from fresh or frozen stool samples. The kit can also be used to isolate DNA from stool samples preserved using Norgen’s Stool Nucleic Acid Collection and Transport Tubes.
The Stool DNA Isolation Kit’s universal protocol conveniently allows for the isolation of total genomic DNA from all of the microorganisms and host cells found in the stool sample simultaneously. The kit removes all traces of humic acid using the provided bead tubes and a combination of chemical and physical homogenization and lysis, without the use of phenol-chloroform extractions.
A simple and rapid spin column procedure is then used to further purify the DNA. The purified DNA is of the highest quality and is fully compatible with downstream PCR applications since all humic acid substances and PCR inhibitors are removed during isolation.
The Stool DNA Isolation kit is used to simultaneously isolate both the host and microbial DNA with a single convenient procedure.
The Stool DNA Isolation Kit removes all traces of humic acid using a combination of chemical and physical homogenization and lysis.
The Stool DNA Isolation Kit isolates high quality DNA without the use of phenol or chloroform.
The Stool DNA Isolation Kit includes: Lysis Buffer L, Lysis Additive A, Binding Buffer I, Buffer SK, Wash Solution A, Elution Buffer B, Bead Tube, Mini Spin Columns, Collection Tubes, Elution tubes (1.7ml), product insert
