The Hirschmann™ 96-Well Glass Tubes are engineered for laboratories requiring high chemical resistance and sample integrity. The glass tubes, also know as insert, are fully made from glass, ensuring minimal leaching and optimal purity. Glass tubes are renowned for its inert properties, offering exceptional clarity and resistance to chemicals and thermal stress. The 96-well glass tubes have a volume of 1.2ml.

The plate is fully made from polypropylene (PP), lightweight, chemically resistant, and widely used in life sciences. It has room for a total of 96 inserts, which can be purchased prefilled & fixed, tubes in bulk or the plates without the tubes. The plates with prefilled glass tubes have the tubes fixed to the itself. All the plates are supplied with a clear, protective lid, so the glass tubes won’t fall out during transport or storage.

The plates without the glass tubes are designed for multiple use and self-configuration of the tubes. In this case the tubes can purchased seperatly in bulk packaging.

Storage & incubation

The glass tubes prevents sample degradation or interaction with container materials. This ensures long-term stability and purity — especially important for sensitive biological or chemical compounds.

Compound libraries and solvent handling

Many solvents can react with plastic, but the glass inserts resist even aggressive solvents like DMSO or acids. Researchers can confidently store or test solvents without contamination.

Bioassays, chemical reactions, and sensitive sample prep

The glass tubes provides a stable, non-reactive environment, ideal for reactions or assays where trace contamination could affect results. The PP plate also withstands autoclaving, useful for sterility.

LC/MS, GC, and spectroscopy workflows

These analytical techniques require ultra-clean and clear conditions. Glass inserts prevent extractables or leachables from interfering with sensitive detection methods, ensuring cleaner spectra and accurate quantification.
